Lifeprint
This website is extremely useful in helping to develop your curriculum and even some lessons. If there is a sign you are not sure about or even if an English word has signs, you can look it up here. There are many websites that provide signs, but this website is the most dependable for West coast signers. Like any other language, ASL has different "dialects" that one area may see and another may not.
Gallaudet's Video Library
As an educator of a visual language, it is for our advantage that we use videos in our curriculum. As a hearing person, I cannot give a "first person" deaf perspective. I like to use Gallaudet's video library to show deaf culture and deaf perspectives from deaf people themselves. Gallaudet is the nation's largest university of deaf people. They work hard at preserving their language, the culture, and things that are unique to the deaf. Using these videos helps give a perspective I cannot communicate from experience.
